American Splendor es una serie de cómic autobiográfico creada en 1976 por el guionista estadounidense Harvey Pekar. La mayor parte de las entregas y novelas gráficas fueron dibujadas por su amigo Robert Crumb, pero también han intervenido otros artistas como Gary Dumm, Joe Sacco, Frank Stack y Joe Zabel.   Una particularidad de esta obra es que trataba la vida cotidiana de un trabajador estadounidense normal, en una época en que la mayoría de la historieta trataba sobre aventuras fantásticas, entregando una subliminalidad al lector entendido.   En el 2003 se realizó una película protagonizada por Paul Giamatti en el papel de Pekar, relatando con una visión cómica la vida de este pintoresco guionista y reflejando su particular visión de la vida.   Clasificación [ CM DVD 00830 ] Disponible en DVD, 4 Piso BJB)  

Psicosis (Psycho, en su título original en inglés) es una película estadounidense de 1960 dirigida por Alfred Hitchcock. Se ha convertido en un clásico del cine de terror y suspense, en parte gracias al guion de Joseph Stefano. Se basa en la novela homónima de 1959 escrita por Robert Bloch, que a su vez fue inspirada por los crímenes de Ed Gein, asesino en serie de Wisconsin. Un viernes por la tarde, en una habitación del hotel de Phoenix, Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) y su novio californiano Sam Loomis (John Gavin) discuten sobre su futuro. Marion quiere casarse con Sam, un deseo dificultado por su escaso sueldo y por las deudas heredadas de su padre. Four Weddings and a Funeral is a 1994 British romantic comedy film directed by Mike Newell. It was the first of several films by screenwriter Richard Curtis to feature Hugh Grant. It was made in six weeks and cost under £3 million, becoming an unexpected success and the highest-grossing British film in cinema history at the time, with worldwide box office in excess of $245.7 million, and receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. The film follows the adventures of a group of friends through the eyes of Charles (Hugh Grant), a good-natured but socially awkward Briton, who is smitten with Carrie (Andie MacDowell), an American whom Charles repeatedly meets at four weddings and at a funeral.   The first wedding is that of Angus (Timothy Walker) and Laura (Sara Crowe), at which Charles is the best man. Charles and his collection of single friends wonder if they will ever get married. At this wedding, Charles meets Carrie for the first time and spends the night with her. Carrie teases him by pretending that, now they have been to bed together, they will also have to get married, to which Charles endeavours to respond before realising she is joking. A Christmas Story is a 1983 American Christmas comedy film based on the short stories and semi-fictional anecdotes of author and raconteur Jean Shepherd, based on his book In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash, with some elements derived from Wanda Hickey's Night of Golden Memories. It was directed by Bob Clark. The film has since become a holiday classic and is shown numerous times on television during the Christmas season, usually on the networks owned by Turner Broadcasting. Since 1997, a A Christmas Story marathon has aired on either TNT or TBS, comprising twelve consecutive airings of the film and beginning at 8 pm on Christmas Eve. Nine-year-old Ralphie Parker wants only one thing for Christmas: a Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock and "this thing which tells time", a sundial. Ralphie's desire is rejected by his mother, his teacher Miss Shields, and even a department store Santa Claus, all giving him the same warning: "You'll shoot your eye out".   Christmas morning arrives and Ralphie dives into his presents. Although he does receive some presents he enjoys, Ralphie ultimately is disappointed that he did not receive the one thing he wanted more than anything. After it appears all of the presents have been opened, Ralphie's father, who is referred to throughout the film as "The Old Man", directs Ralphie to look at one last present that he had hidden. Clear and Present Danger is a 1994 spy action thriller film directed by Phillip Noyce, based on Tom Clancy's book of the same name. It was preceded by the 1990 film The Hunt for Red October and the 1992 film Patriot Games, all three featuring Clancy's fictional character Jack Ryan. It is the last film version of Clancy's novels to feature Harrison Ford as Ryan and James Earl Jones as Vice Admiral James Greer, as well as the final one directed by Noyce. A U.S. Coast Guard patrol boat stops a suspicious yacht, discovering that an American businessman and his family have been murdered by several men operating the craft. The murdered man happens to have been a close friend of the President. President Bennett (Moffat) learns that the man was murdered because of his ties to a drug cartel, having skimmed over $650 million from it. The President tells James Cutter (Yulin), his National Security Advisor, that Colombian drug cartels represent a "clear and present danger" to the U.S., indirectly giving him unofficial permission to kill the men responsible for his friend's murder. Jack Ryan (Ford) is appointed Deputy Director of Intelligence and is asked to go before the U.S. Congress to request increased funding for ongoing (CIA) operations in Colombia.   Seeking to keep Ryan out of the loop, Cutter turns to the CIA's Deputy Director for Operations Bob Ritter (Czerny), who secures a document giving him permission to act as he sees fit to take down the cartel. Ritter assembles a black-operations team with the help of John Clark (Dafoe). Chocolat (Chocolate, según se tradujo en algunos países hispanohablantes) es una película de 2000 dirigida por Lasse Hallström y protagonizada por Juliette Binoche. Es una coproducción del Reino Unido y los Estados Unidos, basada en la novela del mismo título de Joanne Harris. Con el fin de prepararse para su papel, Juliette Binoche estuvo unos días en una confitería de París, aprendiendo a preparar dulces de chocolate. La película narra la historia de una mujer soltera, Vianne Rocher (Juliete Binoche) y su hija, quienes llegan a Lansquenet, un pequeño pueblo francés, en el invierno de 1959. La vida trashumante de Vianne y su indiferencia ante el catolicismo sacuden las bases de la sociedad mayoritariamente conservadora y piadosa del pueblo cuyos habitantes, moralistas y reprimidos, viven de las apariencias y rechazan todo aquello que, por nuevo o desconocido, se introduce en sus vidas. Al poco tiempo de llegar, Vianne abre su propia tienda de chocolates, con la que lentamente comienza a ganarse la confianza de muchos en el pueblo, pero a la vez le causa enormes confrontaciones con las facciones tradicionales, quienes consideran que por quedar justo frente a la iglesia del pueblo, y trabajar los domingos, Vianne representa una amenaza para lo establecido. A medida que se acerca el domingo de pascua, la confrontación crece entre aquellos que la apoyan y los que la repudian, especialmente cuando Vianne decide organizar un festival del chocolate durante una de las celebraciones más importantes del Catolicismo. Coming Home es una película estadounidense de 1978, dirigida por Hal Ashby. Protagonizada por Jane Fonda, Jon Voight, Bruce Dern, Penelope Milford, Robert Carradine, Robert Ginty y un largo reparto. Galardonada con tres Premios Óscar 1979: al mejor actor principal (Jon Voight), a la mejor actriz principal (Jane Fonda) y al mejor guion original , y otros importantes premios cinematográficos.   Durante la Guerra de Vietnam, Sally Hyde (Jane Fonda) está casada con Bob Hyde (Bruce Dern). Bob es un capitán y es enviado a Vietnam. Sola y sin mucho que hacer, Sally decide inscribirse como voluntaria en el hospital militar para veteranos de su pueblo, donde trabaja su amiga Violet Munson (Penelope Milford). Cuando comienza a trabajar se reencuentra con un amigo de sus tiempos de estudiante, Luke Martin (Jon Voight).   Luke ha quedado semiparalizado a causa de una herida recibida en Vietnam y debe desplazarse en una silla de ruedas. Pronto, la amistad existente entre ambos se transforma en atracción y pasión. Sally experimenta su primer orgasmo junto a Luke. Un hermano de Violet, Bill Munson (Robert Carradine) llega al hospital de regreso de Vietnam, afectado psíquicamente. Vive en un apartamento lujoso con su mayordomo (John Gielgud) y sale con su Rolls-Royce y su chófer. El padre de Arthur quiere que siente cabeza de una vez y le busca una novia. Aunque al principio Arthur no tiene inconveniente en casarse, conoce una mujer de clase más humilde (Liza Minnelli), con la que establece una relación cada vez más estrecha. La hora del lobo ( sueco : Vargtimmen) es un 1968 sueca surrealista – terror psicológico – drama de película, dirigida por Ingmar Bergman y protagonizada por Max von Sydow y Liv Ullmann . Argumento  Durante los créditos de apertura, Bergman se escuchó dando instrucciones y discutir con su personal, mientras que la preparación de un tiro. La película se enmarca través de la cuenta de Alma (Ullmann), que se dirige al público directamente. Ella habla de la desaparición de su marido, que se exploró en un flashback construida de sus diarios y sus palabras.
