Cat People es una película de terror erótica estadounidense de 1982, dirigida por Paul Schrader y protagonizada por Nastassja Kinski, Malcolm McDowell y John Heard en los papeles principales. Es un remake de la película homónima de 1942. Irena Gallier (Nastassja Kinski) viaja desde Canadá hasta Nueva Orleans, Estados Unidos, para volver a conectar con su hermano Paul (Malcolm McDowell). Ambos habían quedado huérfanos tras la muerte de sus padres. Irena estuvo viviendo en una casa de acogida toda su vida mientras que su hermano pasó su desafortunada infancia entre diferentes instituciones y la cárcel. Ambos regresan a la casa de Paul, donde su ama de llaves criolla, Mujer (Ruby Dee, Female en la versión original), ayuda a Irena a asentarse. Más tarde, mientras Irena está durmiendo, Paul se dedica a observarla con una mirada predadora. En esa misma noche una prostituta entra a un motel de mala muerte para encontrarse con su cliente, pero es, sin embargo, atacada por una pantera negra. Cuenta la historia de Roy Neary, reparador de líneas eléctricas de Indiana a quien le cambia la vida tras experimentar un encuentro con un objeto volador no identificado, de cuya existencia está al tanto el gobierno de los Estados Unidos, el cual colabora con los ovnis en una especie de equipo internacional de científicos investigadores. En el desierto de Sonora, el científico francés, investigador del fenómeno ovni, Claude Lacombe (François Truffaut) y su traductor estadounidense David Laughlin (Bob Balaban), entre otros científicos investigadores gubernamentales, descubren los aviones que componían el Vuelo 19, un escuadrón aéreo perdido poco después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Los aviones están intactos y operativos, pero no hay rastro de los pilotos. Un carguero, el Cotopaxi, desaparecido en el Triángulo de Las Bermudas, aparece en mitad del desierto de Gobi. The Poseidon Adventure is a 1972 American disaster film directed by Ronald Neame, produced by Irwin Allen, and based on Paul Gallico's eponymous 1969 novel. It features an ensemble cast, including five Academy Award winners: Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine, Jack Albertson, Shelley Winters, and Red Buttons. Parts of the movie were filmed aboard the RMS Queen Mary. The plot centers on the fictional SS Poseidon, an aged luxury liner on her final voyage from New York City to Athens before being sent to the scrapyard. On New Year's Eve, she is overturned by a tsunami. Passengers and crew are trapped inside, and a rebellious preacher attempts to lead a small group of survivors to safety. The S.S. Poseidon, an ocean liner slated for retirement, is on her way to Athens. Despite protests from the captain, who fears for the ship's safety, the new owner's representative insists he go full speed to save money, preventing him from taking on ballast. Reverend Scott, a minister believing that "God helps those who help themselves", is travelling to a new parish in Africa as a punishment for his unorthodox views. Detective Lt. Rogo and wife Linda, a former prostitute, deal with her seasickness. Susan and younger brother Robin are traveling to meet their parents. Robin is interested in how the ship works and frequently visits the engine room. Retired Jewish store owner Manny Rosen and wife Belle are going to Israel to meet their young grandson for the first time. Haberdasher James Martin is a love-shy, health-conscious bachelor. Julia is a 1977 American drama film directed by Fred Zinnemann, from a screenplay by Alvin Sargent. It is based on a chapter from Lillian Hellman's book Pentimento about the author's relationship with a lifelong friend, "Julia," who fought against the Nazis in the years prior to World War II. Hellman said the story was true, but critics have challenged its accuracy. The film in DeLuxe Color was produced by Richard Roth, with Julien Derode as executive producer and Tom Pevsner as associate producer. The young Lillian and her friend Julia, daughter of a wealthy family being brought up by her grandparents in the U.S., enjoy a childhood together and an extremely close relationship in late adolescence. Later, while medical student/physician Julia (Vanessa Redgrave) attends Oxford and the University of Vienna and studies with such luminaries as Sigmund Freud, Lillian (Jane Fonda), a struggling writer, suffers through revisions of her play with her mentor and sometime lover, famed author Dashiell Hammett (Jason Robards) at a beachhouse. Julia's school in Vienna is overrun by Nazi thugs and Julia is severely injured trying to protect her colleagues. Lillian receives word of Julia's condition, and rushes to Vienna to be with her. Julia is taken away for "treatment" and Lillian is unable to find her again since the hospital denies any knowledge of her being treated there. Cuando llega es arrestado por un policía local (Warren Oates) bajo sospecha de haber asesinado a un hombre blanco adinerado. Para comprobar su identidad el jefe de policía (Rod Steiger) habla por teléfono con el superior de Tibbs en Filadelfia quien le confirma la identidad y le ofrece además que Tibbs le ayude a esclarecer el crimen. El jefe de policía, a quien dominan los prejuicios raciales, se resiste a aceptar esta colaboración. Miles is something of a sad sack, a high school English teacher who is a failed writer at heart. He has yet to get over the fact that his wife has divorced him and that she has remarried and he now faces that nerve racking wait for word from a prospective publisher. Miles has an opportunity to start anew when he meets Stephanie's friend Maya but when he let's slip that Jack is about to be married any hope of a relationship seems to be lost. After he establishes himself as master of Europe with victories in battles like Austerlitz and diplomatic alliances, he embarks on a series of decisions that mark his decline and fall: an ill-advised occupation of Spain, his divorce of Josephine and marriage into the Hapsburg family, and his disastrous invasion of Russia in 1812. After a failed attempt to return to power culminating in final defeat at Waterloo in 1815, he spends his remaining years defining his legacy with his memoirs. Tokyo Story  is a 1953 Japanese drama film directed by Yasujirō Ozu and starring Chishū Ryū and Chieko Higashiyama. It tells the story of an aging couple who travel to Tokyo to visit their grown children. The film contrasts the behavior of their children, who are too busy to pay them much attention, and their widowed daughter-in-law, who treats them with kindness. A retired couple, Shūkichi and Tomi Hirayama (played by Chishū Ryū and Chieko Higashiyama respectively) live in the town of Onomichi in southwest Japan with their daughter Kyōko (played by Kyōko Kagawa) who is a primary school teacher. They have five adult children, four living. The couple travel to Tokyo to visit their son, daughter, and widowed daughter-in-law. Their eldest son, Kōichi (So Yamamura), is a pediatrician, and their eldest daughter, Shige (Haruko Sugimura), runs a hairdressing salon. Kōichi and Shige are both busy, and do not have much time for their parents. Only their widowed daughter-in-law, Noriko (Setsuko Hara), the wife of their middle son Shōji who is missing presumed dead during The Pacific War, goes out of her way to entertain them.
