Zazie in the Metro (original French title: Zazie dans le Métro, sometimes called Zazie) is a 1960 French film directed by Louis Malle, based on the novel by Raymond Queneau. Provincial 10-year old Zazie stays in Paris with her Uncle Gabriel (a female impersonator) for two days, while her mother spends some time with her lover. Zazie manages to evade her uncle's custody, however, and, métro strike notwithstanding, sets out to explore the city on her own. Lacombe Lucien (in English, Lacombe, Lucien) is a 1974 French war drama film about a French teenage boy during the German occupation of France in World War II. It is based in part on director Louis Malle's own experiences. In 1944 Lucien Lacombe, a 17-year-old peasant living in the Lot region of south-western France, is rejected by the French Resistance. Pro-German collaborators obtain information from him about a resistance leader and recruit him into the "Milice Francaise", a fascist group that hunts down Resistance fighters. Lacombe enjoys his new power and position, but falls in love with France Horn. She is a French-born Jewish girl who lives in seclusion with her father, Albert, a tailor, and her paternal grandmother, Bella, who live in fear of deportation. Forcing himself upon the girl, Lacombe becomes protective of those very people targeted by his superiors. The events take place in June 1944 during the Normandy landing by the Allies. Lucien, while protecting France to the end, knows that he is aligned with the wrong side, for which he will pay with his life. Le Dîner de Cons (English: "Dinner of Fools"[2]), also known as The Dinner Game in the United States, is a 1998 French comedy film written and directed by Francis Veber. It is a film adaptation by Veber of his play Le Dîner de Cons. Pierre Brochant, a Parisian publisher, attends a weekly "idiots' dinner", where guests, who are modish, prominent Parisian businessmen, must bring along an "idiot" who the other guests can ridicule. At the end of the dinner, the evening's "champion idiot" is selected. With the help of an "idiot scout", Brochant manages to find a "gem", François Pignon, a sprightly employee of the Finance Ministry (which Brochant, a tax cheat, loathes) that has a passion for building replicas of landmarks with matchsticks. Shortly after inviting Pignon to his home, Brochant is suddenly stricken with dorsalgia while playing golf at his exclusive country club. His wife, Christine, leaves him shortly before Pignon arrives at his apartment, as she realizes that he still wants to go to the "idiots' dinner." Brochant initially wants Pignon to leave, but instead becomes reliant on him, because of his back problem and his need to resolve his relationship problems. Paul queda locamente enamorado de Agathe (Renée Cosima) , y esto provoca los celos de Elisabeth, su hermana, todo desemboca en un trágico final debido a que Gerard (Jacques Bernard), el mejor amigo de Paul, acaba teniendo una relación con la modelo Agathe. Le Grand Blond avec une chaussure noire est un film français d'Yves Robert sorti en 1972. Une suite est sorti peu de temps après : Le retour du grand blonde chef des services secrets français, Louis Toulouse, est compromis par son adjoint Milan dans une affaire d'agent double. Cette machination menée par Milan a pour objectif de discréditer Toulouse afin de prendre sa place. Mais Toulouse, ayant découvert les plans de Milan, met en place un piège pour faire tomber son adjoint. Pour cela, il décide d'utiliser un inconnu, « n'importe qui, un homme dans la foule » et de faire croire à Milan que l'inconnu en question est un redoutable agent secret destiné à régler l'affaire de l'agent double. Cet inconnu, choisi par hasard à Orly par Perrache, l'homme de confiance de Toulouse, parce qu'il porte une chaussure noire à un pied et une marron à l'autre, est François Perrin, un violoniste étourdi. Il le fait protéger discrètement par deux agents : Poucet et Chaperon. Milan tombe immédiatement dans le piège et déploie une équipe d'espions destinée à épier Perrin. Mais son comportement normal et parfois bizarre et maladroit va davantage déstabiliser Milan. Pour le faire « parler », il attire Perrin dans le lit de son agent féminin, la sculpturale Christine, afin d'obtenir des confidences sur l'oreiller. Elle est d'ailleurs la première à se douter du piège mais Milan ne la croit pas. À ses yeux, que Perrin n'ait rien à avouer ajoute à sa crédibilité de redoutable agent. La Chèvre (English title: Knock on Wood, literal translation: The Goat) is a 1981 French comedy film directed by Francis Veber, starring Pierre Richard and Gérard Depardieu. It is the first of three films featuring Richard and Depardieu as a comic duo. An American remake of this film was made in 1991, starring Martin Short and Danny Glover, entitled Pure Luck. La Chèvre features Depardieu as the tough-guy private detective Campana, hired to find Marie, the daughter of a rich businessman, who has mysteriously disappeared while vacationing in Mexico. The case turns out to be complicated – several attempts to find her have already failed. A psychologist, Meyer, who works for the businessman, suggests a plan. Marie is known to be extremely unlucky and accident-prone; the psychologist advises sending someone equally accident-prone to find her, on the theory that what happened to her may also happen to him, and thus, following her steps while the detective tags along, the daughter can be found and returned home. Richard's character Perrin is an awkward, accident-prone accountant who works for the businessman, and is chosen to implement the scheme.
